We are part of The Arts Society, Wyvern Area and our members and those on the waiting list are welcome to take part in Wyvern area events.

The Wyvern Area of the Arts Society will again host a series of three Study Days at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, in early 2020.

Attendance is open to all, not just Arts Society members, so if you have a friend or friends who you feel may be interested, please feel free to pass this information on to them.

What is Truth and Beauty in Art?

Three specially constructed days, exploring how the concept of truth and beauty in art has changed over time and between cultures.

Day 1: 22 January 2020 – The Visual Art of Power and Rank at the Chinese Imperial Court,  Lecturer: David Rosier

Day 2: 26 February 2020 – Japanese History, Art and Culture,  Lecturer: Suzanne Perrin

Day 3: 24 March 2020 – European Art, Influences on Perceptions of Value, Lecturer: Chantal Brotherton-Ratcliffe

Open to both Arts Society members and non-members.

Venue for all three Study Days – The Headley Lecture Theatre, Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. (10.30-3.30pm)

Cost £38 per day or £114 for the series of 3. Includes coffee and a sandwich lunch.
