At TASO we have a wide range of guided trips planned in 2023-24, including local walks in Oxford, visits further afield, and a residential tour. We will add to the calendar below as visits are scheduled and details confirmed.

If you would like more information, do email us at tasovisits@gmail.com.

We are also always happy to receive your ideas and suggestions for future walks, visits and trips.

Please be aware that Visits Team events work differently to lectures. They are almost always ticketed, there are limited places and there is usually high demand. For these reasons, each event is initially open only to members, then offered to those on the event’s waiting list if there are still places, and only if places remain after that are they offered to non-members.

The Visits Team is delighted to be offering a four night residential trip from Monday 13th May to Friday 17th May 2024 to the northeast of England. This trip has been organised in response to the feedback we received from the questionnaire recently sent out to members.

We have organised the trip with Success Tours, who provide high standard tours that members of other Arts Societies consider to be good value for money. We will travel on Monday 13th by coach from Oxford to Newcastle (and back on Friday 17th). The tour base will be a high standard hotel in Newcastle, and there will be a variety of guided visits, including The Angel of the North – Anthony Gormley’s iconic landmark – and the now famous Baltic Art Centre. You can find further details by clicking here.

Please note that the tour is open only to members, their families and their friends, and the price will depend on the number of people who register (minimum 20):  20-24 will be £745pp; 25-29 will be £679pp; and 30+ will be £635pp. There will be a single person supplement of £210 (NB the booking form says £105, but £210 is the correct figure). The price includes all costs for accommodation, meals, transport and guided tours. Note that there are now no more single rooms available, but a few twin rooms are still left.

We are reasonably optimistic that the tour will attract at least 25 members, so we are advertising the cost at £679pp. From the research that we have undertaken, we know that this is competitively priced.

We suggest that members book sooner rather than later by clicking here to download the booking form, then completing it and sending direct to Success Tours. We have high expectations that this exciting Arts Tour will attract a lot of interest from members.

Best wishes
